The Story So Far
1970's
The history of H2 began within the early years when Burnell Hiestand worked alongside his father selling coal and wood-burning stoves during the Oil Crisis in the late 1970’s, offering Americans the affordable alternative of heating their home to avoid the high cost of soaring oil prices. As the Oil Crisis ended, fewer Americans were inclined to purchase a wood-burning stove. Burnell was approached with the opportunity to sell factory built wood-burning fireplaces in new townhouses.
1984
With the help of his brother, they installed the company’s first fireplace in 1984. He became knowledgeable about fireplaces and pioneered factory-built fireplaces in central Pa in new homes and townhomes. This business, Hiestand Supply Co, Burnell’s first, was located on the family farm using the barns and mill for their office and warehouse. Burnell learned that strong relationships with vendors are key to providing a high level of service to its customers.
1990
As the years passed, more home specialty products were added. In the late 80’s Burnell pioneered wire shelving installations in homes, then went on to add mirrors and bath accessories. By the early 1990s, the service of installing shower doors was added. Hiestand Supply Co was one of the first companies in the country to sell and install this group of products, now known in the industry as “after paint” products.
2001
In 1999, Hiestand Supply (H1) was sold. But after a short break, in 2001, Burnell decided to start all over again but with a new principal owner, his wife Tina along with partner, Tom NyeSmith. Now H2 is a nationally recognized Women’s Owned Business. H2, started with a core group (8) people and quickly grew, starting small but bringing energy and commitment from day one. H2 continued to grow and expand its customer base by adding our Commercial division. The Commercial Division now sells and installs most all products in Div 10 to General Contractors in the Mid Atlantic region.
2009
In 2009, H2 had an opportunity to expand their footprint by purchasing two additional locations in Bensalem, PA and Lakewood, NJ Lakewood location has since moved to Jackson, NJ.
2013 - Today
In 2013, Growth continued to flourish with the expansion of partnering with Home Depot and the birth of the custom Crystal View Shower Doors brand offered to retail customers in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Washington, DC, Virginia, and Ohio. Dependable and reliable are the primary attributes that H2 customers can count on.
As H2 has grown, the mission statement has stayed the same: be highly respected and highly regarded for providing superior service and quality products. H2 owe’s their success to the commitment of their team to “WOW” H2’s customers which have forged long lasting relationships. Many of H2’s first customers are still loyal partners today.

Back in 2001, we saw a need for a company focused on delivering and installing specialty home systems and commercial products. We stepped up to the challenge, starting small but bringing energy and commitment from day one. As we grew, our work expanded but our mission statement stayed the same: to be respected and highly regarded as a preferred supplier by providing superior service for selected specialty building products through total commitment to quality of product, personnel, and effort.
