Commercial Installer
Reports to: Branch Manager
Department: Commercial
FLSA: Non-Exempt – Hourly

Scope:
The role of the Installer is central to the work of the company and the quality and quantity of work done by installers is essential to H2’s success. The Installer will work under the direction of a Field Supervisor. They will be trained in all areas of installation of Commercial products. They should be able to lift 80lb and use general tools such as a drill, laser, hammer, screwdriver, various saws, and measuring tape.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Takes daily direction from the Field Supervisor. Once directed work efficiently and independently in completing the task within a reasonable time to H2 standards.
2. Arrive at work on time. If sick or cannot report to work call your Field Supervisor immediately.
3. As work is being performed inform the Field Supervisor of any problems or issues that arise immediately.
Example: Tool provided does not do the job, missing blocking for grab bars or shower seats, damaged material, wrong material, or not enough material. Communication of issues to the Field Supervisor before leaving the site is paramount.
4. Safety first—-adhere to all safety requirements outlines in Safety Manual. All work-related incidents will be reported using proper forms within 24 hours of occurrence. There may be other requirements based on the contractor that may need to be followed but would be identified by the Field Supervisor.
Example: Special training requirements.
5. There will be no smoking in any building or vehicle.
6. Make sure you take the time to read instructions before beginning the installation of any product, including shop drawings, picklists, etc. This information will be supplied by your Field Supervisor.
7. Complete time sheet daily for all work completed, hours worked, hours traveled, loading time (warehouse time) and miles traveled if using an H2 vehicle. This must be given to your Field Supervisor by end of day for submission to payroll or penalties may apply (see policy). This will include the picklist, time sheet and cut sheet for shelving. If work cannot be completed an incomplete form must be filled out explaining why work was unfinished and details of work remaining.
8. All instructions are to come from the Field Supervisor. If approached by an employee of the general contractor, you must refer them to your Field Supervisor. Be polite and provide your Field Supervisor’s name andm phone number or if on-site advise where they can be found.
9. Work should be accurate and of the highest quality—Example—toilet tissues, towel bars and grab bars should be level, with no scratches or dents. Shower door caulking should be a fine bead.
10. Clean and remove any trash from your work area daily, this will reflect highly on H2.
11. Account for all material used. If extra material is being left on site, you will need to contact your Field Supervisor to confirm an approved safe storage location.
12. If tools are needed that you do not have, contact your Field Supervisor immediately.
13. Verify material loaded for the job is checked against the picklist. Do not wait until you are on the job site and realize you have the wrong material or not enough as listed on the pick list. For shelving and accessories, it is suggested to take a few extras and record on the pick list and return if not used by identifying on the pick list.
14. Maintain company vehicles and other property. Report needed repairs immediately to the Field Supervisor.
15. Attend training classes as required and other special classes deemed necessary to improve skills.
16. Perform only work authorized—contact your Field Supervisor if you are asked to do other than directed.

Qualifications:
Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be proficient in Microsoft office suite programs, possess knowledge and skills related to estimating and procurement processes. Ability to read construction drawings, documents, and specification manuals. Commitment to a positive and friendly working relationship with all vendors, contractors, sales personnel and H2 staff. Willingness to be a dedicated member in a team atmosphere. Ability to establish own schedule with input from Branch Operations manager using efficient time management.
Education:
High School Diploma
Work Experience:
Prior work in the Construction industry

Residential Installer
Reports to: Branch Operations Manager
Department: Closet & Bath
Effective Date: February 2024

Scope:
This position is responsible for the quality installation of closet shelving, shower doors and panels, mirror, and bath accessories in new or remodeled homes and apartments. A passion for construction, use of hand tools and quality installation with strong customer satisfaction is essential.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Installation
a) Anticipate needs for the installation in advance, check your orders while loading to ensure all components needed for the daily orders are accounted for.
b) If using an Installer Helper, anticipate your needs having the Installer Helper assist in carrying heavy components, providing tools and products to you as you are installing, cleaning the glass and mirrors and removal of trash and debris on the worksite.
c) Provide training and mentorship to Installer helpers.
d) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
e) Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
f) Ability to read instructions, CAD Designs, standards, etc. to ensure proper installation.
g) Strong knowledge and prior use of power and hand tools.
2. Material Handling
a) Responsible for properly loading, securing, and transporting of handling materials necessary for installations. This includes lifting, carrying, and organizing components to ensure a smooth installation process.
b) Willing to support other H2 Team processes such as material handling, assisting in the warehouse or assisting the Commercial division.
3. Tools and Truck Maintenance
a) Responsible for proper handling and storage of all tools and equipment.
b) Assist in maintaining trucks/vans driven by keeping them clean, maintaining tire pressure, and reporting issues as they occur. Ensure they are in optimal condition everything needed for the installation while everything is properly organized and safely stored.
c) Will operate company equipment in safe manner following all DOT rules and regulations.
4. Collaboration
a) Work closely with Scheduling Coordinator and Branch Operations Manager to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
b) Collaborate when there is a need to troubleshoot and solve installation challenges. Open to additional training and development
5. Paperwork
a) Complete paperwork related to installation process on a daily basis.
b) Ensure accuracy and turn it in daily with vehicle keys.
6. Quality Assurance
a) Self-starter with relentless pursuit for excellence, demonstrating pride in craftmanship.
b) A strong eye for details
c) Ensures quality workmanship by double checking work before leaving the job.
7. Customer Interactions
a) Demonstrates a positive attitude and represents H2 in a professional manner while performing duties.

Work and Experience Requirements:
(a) High School Diploma or equivalent required.
(b) Prior Experience with power and hand tools
(c) Prior constructions and/or closet and bath experience preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, or Abilities:
The person in this position must be able to understand and accurately perform most of the skills and tasks associated with this position. Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., have a strong working knowledge of H2 products, installation methods, mechanical aptitude, strong organizational skills and be organized and neat. Must possess a valid drivers license and is subject to DMV checks annually. Must be able to communicate, read and write in English.
Work Environment:
This position works in an environment where other equipment and machinery operate, and the working conditions will be variable with temperature extremes, noise, dirt, and dust from construction activities. Will work/unload in mud, rain, snow etc.
